As reported by NBC New York, Jacob, a 6-year-old boy with autism is making a difference in the lives of shelter dogs in Gardena, California. The connection was first made through a family member who worked at Carson Animal Shelter and than led to something amazing.
Jacob told NBC New York, “If I read to the dogs they will come out of their cages and find homes.”
Way to go Jacob! Animals have been shown to have a positive impact on those with autism and other special needs. You can read the entire story at NBC New York here.
