Chicago White Sox slugger Jose Abreu in collaboration with Easter Seals Metropolitian Chiacgo (ESMC) Therapeutic School and Center for Autism Research has started a new community program called Abreu’s Amigos that is focused on social development for those with autism and other special needs. As reported by ESMC, Abreu presented their center with a $10,000 donation.
Abreu told ESMC, “I am grateful to start this long-term program that will help make a difference in the lives of the students.”
This isn’t the first time Abreu has given back to the cause. In 2008 with the help of Chicago White Sox Charities (CWSC) presented a $1 million grant to ESMC to help with their program.
