An incident on 4/21/21 in Vacaville, California has gone viral where there’s footage taken from a ring doorbell video of a police offer slamming a 17-year-old autistic teen to the ground and punching him in the office during a citation.
The father of the teen, Adam Wolf posted the video on Facebook writing “I am pro police, but I am not pro ABUSE. This individual and department must be held accountable for their actions. NO child, disability or not deserves to be treated like this.
What’s your take? As a public speaker who gives first responder trainings, I often discuss the importance of de-escalation techniques. There were several incidents here that were done improperly physically and verbally. For example, the officer said “Don’t make me hurt you more” when he should have said “Please stay still.”
You can watch the video above. Warning: You may find this video disturbing involving a minor.
The Vacaville police department are investigating this incident.
