The Impact Walking for Autism Can Have on Our Community

On behalf of Autism Speaks I was given the wonderful opportunity to speak at the kickoff for the Greater Morris Area Walk Now for Autism Speaks kickoff at the Park Avenue Club in Florham Park, New Jersey! During my talk I discussed growing up with autism and how I got involved with the walks. I also shared a personal poem with the audience called “The Letter I Would Have Written for My Parents When I Was Still Non-Verbal.”

In several of my blogs for Autism Speaks I share how I met the first people I would ever know who had autism thanks to the walks.

I want to thank The Greater Morris Area Walk Committee for having me out to speak. I attended their walk for the first time last year and they are made up of a truly dedicated group of people who care about supporting members of our autism community!
