I had the wonderful opportunity to share my story on NJTV News with Mary Alice Williams. During the interview I was able to share my story of growing up with autism and what we’re doing today to help families.
A big part of the interview included the issues currently facing adults with autism today in our community. Employment, housing, and postsecondary I shared with Williams are the big three currently out there in our community. To help with this I started a nonprofit called KFM Making a Difference which has been able to give over 25 scholarships for students with autism to attend college. At the end of the interview I discussed that autism is a lifelong disorder. Early intervention is the key but once these kids become adults we can’t forget about them.
