Her response is beautiful…
Holly Robinson Peete may be known best for her roles in 21 Jump Street and Hangin with Mr. Cooper but in our autism community she’s best known as one of the strongest champions we have towards autism education and advocacy. Recently she just launched a new TV show on the Oprah Winfrey Network called For Peete’s Sake.
The video above is a short clip from the show that shares a conversation Holly has with her son RJ who was diagnosed with autism at the age of 3. Since being diagnosed RJ has made tremendous strides as he’s now a young adult. The big question this clip looks at is one that countless struggle with which is when people believe that you can ‘grow out of’ having autism. No spoilers but Holly’s response was great!
As someone on the autism spectrum who has become a professional speaker and author myself, I’d love if Holly would consider having me as a guest on her show to help spread more awareness towards autism. We’ve become a huge fan of hers and her dedication towards helping others.
