“There’s no greater disability in society than the inability to see a person as more…”
This was one of the quotes Miss Nevada 2016 Bailey Gumm shared in her recent TEDxTalk titled “Autism Through A Different Lens.” Gumm, a dear friend of mine, has been advocating for autism for the past several years now. Her passion for autism advocacy started through her younger brother Alex who was diagnosed with autism at 22 months old.
In her talk Gumm discusses the impact that siblings can have in our community along with 3 ways to help them become an advocate.
“We know our brothers and sisters as people. We need to stand in support of our siblings.”
