World Autism Awareness Day started with a bang when I was able to take part in a panel discussion on HuffPost Live to discuss love & relationships for those on the autism spectrum. Moderated by Caroline Modarressy-Tehrani the other panelists included Matt Fuller and Carolina Groppa from the new hit documentary Autism in Love and Olivia Cantu who is the Co-Founder of SpectrumSingles.com, a place where those on the autism spectrum can form friendships and relationships with others with autism!
With 500,000 teens reaching adulthood within the next decade relationships will become a possibility for many in our autism community. I wanted to thank HuffPost Live for bringing up such an important topic. Later that day HuffPost Women posted an article that I was quoted in talking about a similar subject which you can find here. I concluded in this piece by writing…
“Autism doesn’t define me,” Magro said. “I define autism in everything I do in my life. In our lives we all want to feel that we can be loved by someone.”
