The topic of autism and love are rather new to our community. With 500,000 teenagers with autism reaching adulthood within the next decade though, relationships are going to be possible for some adults on the spectrum. It’s time to start this conversation…
Thanks to the people involved with The 6th Annual Honestly Autism Day Conference I was able to present on my own successes and challenges of falling in love. In my presentation, I got to discuss how I was the Autism Society’s 2011 outstanding individual with autism, my scholarship program I started for adults with autism to pursue college and, finally, my new book Autism and Falling in Love.
I want to sincerely thank Debbie and everyone on the Honestly Autism Day Conference Committee for selecting me to speak and for their work to shine a light on our autism community!
