Growing up nonverbal, I was told by Doctors that I was on the severe end of the autism spectrum. Today I’m a professional speaker who highlights stories of those impacted by a diagnosis. I’m also a 3rd year doctoral candidate who hopes to graduate in May 2019 (fingers crossed).
Haley Moss has a similar story. She too was nonverbal for the first years of her life and in an interview she did with TODAY she said that, “My parents were told I would be lucky to have friends or even hold a minimum wage job.” I have talked to her about doing an on-camera interview with her to highlight her story on our A Special Community Facebook Page the next time I am speaking in Florida!
How great is this? CBS News also did an impressive video on Haley’s story you can watch below to learn more about her. She is now a practicing lawyer!
You can read about Erik Weber who is a young man on the autism spectrum who also passed the bar here. Way to go Haley! Keep up the great work!
